Everybody have their dream job, a dream to establish their career and for this they have to appear for a job interview sooner or later. The interview is a process of selecting people where a recruiter wishes to know you better, he tests your potential and skills and analyzes whether you are a suitable candidate for the required job.
Prior to the interview process you will find yourself normally nervous, fidgety, dry-mouthed or sweaty but being nervous and anxious is not an abnormal thing. If you are not able to control the nervousness, however, then that will definitely affect your performance adversely and this is not what you want. If you perfectly prepare yourself then you can build confidence at the interview
Firstly it is very essential to set a good image on the interviewer. For this you must thoroughly go through the company’s background. Prior to the interview you should learn and gather as much information as possible for the prospective employer’s company. Your knowledge about the company will contribute to the creation of positive image. You can get all the information about the company’s products, market, size and mission from its brochures or the internet.
Secondly you must prepare yourself for all the possible questions. Interviewer’s interrogation can sometimes greatly confuse you. The most important question of all is “why should I hire you”? Many candidates are unable to deliver a perfect answer because they begin to discuss their personal goals rather than showing a contribution to the company’s success. Tackling with interview questions is an art. If you learn the art to answer questions from employer’s point of view, you may consider yourself to almost fully succeed in the interview. You should also mentally review your skills and past achievements which can contribute in your future job.
Once you have completed your home work and you are now fully prepared then your next step is to encounter the employer for the interview. When you face the interviewer, show your enthusiasm and keep an interested expression. You have to be active to become a good listener. You must listen to each question carefully and then answer with confidence. Communication skills are also important. Interviewers are very keen to expect good communication skills.
